Donnellson, IA (Friday, July 21, 2017) – After taking last Friday night, July 14th, off to regroup from the fair the week before. The Pepsi Lee County Speedway in Donnellson, Iowa was set to return to action on Friday, July 21st. But excessive heat warnings all day and evening forced officials to cancel Friday nights action.
Mohrfeld Electric was the nights sponsor of the Dan Elmore Memorial event, with the 305 Sprints scheduled to making their one and only stop of the season at the track for 2017. Track officials are looking at another date in the near future to bring back the 305 Sprints. So stay tuned to the Pepsi Lee County Speedway website and Facebook page for that announcement.
Coming up next Friday, July 28th will be a weekly points race, with Walmart, Wilson Brothers BBQ & Catering, and West Point Auto and Powersports helping to bring the action. In action on the night will be the Steffes UMP Pro Late Models, Budweiser IMCA Modifieds, Donnellson Tire & Service IMCA Stock Cars, Shottenkirk Parts Express IMCA SportMods, and the Armstrong Tractor IMCA Sport Compacts.
Gates will open at 5:30 PM, hot laps at 7 PM, and racing at 7:30 PM. Grandstand admission will be adults $10, seniors (60+) $9, students (11-17) $5, and kids 10 & under FREE!! Pit passes are $25, age 7-13 $15, ages 4-6 $10, and ages 3 & under $3.
Don’t forget to mark your calendars for the 2nd Annual “Summerfest” coming to the Pepsi Lee County Speedway on Thursday, August 3rd and Friday, August 4th. The Steffes UMP Pro Lates Models, Budweiser IMCA Modifieds, Donnellson Tire & Service IMCA Stock Cars, and Shottenkirk Parts Express IMCA SportMods will be racing both nights for $1,000 to win. Plus the Armstrong Tractor IMCA Sport Compacts will be going for $300 to win each night. Also racing both nights will be the Legends Cars.
